Aspen Airline Options
Getting to Aspen, Colorado is easy! Why? Aspen has its own airport (Sardy Field - ASE), located 10 minutes from downtown and the Aspen Square. Service is provided to Denver many times each day, and seasonal direct service connects Aspen to Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco and now Houston, Texas. Just 70 miles away from Aspen, the Eagle County Airport provides direct service to additional major cities. Denver International Airport is about a four hour drive from Aspen.
Aspen, CO - Sardy Field (ASE)
The Aspen Sardy Field Airport (ASE) is just three miles from the town of Aspen Colorado, and is served by over 200 flights each week in winter and a lesser number in the summer. Fly directly from Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Fransisco in the winter ski season, with direct flights limited in the summer. Daily flights between Aspen and Denver are frequent all summer long with Airline carriers Frontier Airlines and United Airlines.
Aspen is served by two airlines operating daily this summer: United Express and Frontier Airlines. Passenger services inside the Aspen terminal building include a full service restaurant and bar, courtesy phones, rest room facilities, gift shop, public telephones, vending machines, newspaper racks, lockers, airport administration offices, various ground transportation providers, and five rental car agencies.
This winter ahead, United Airlines will provide service to Aspen, with direct flights to Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Frontier Airlines will offer four flights daily to Denver, connecting with over 55 major cities served from Denver. New thsi year: United will fly direct from Aspen to Houston one time daily starting January 4.
Eagle County Airport (EGE)
Close to Aspen and the best skiing in North America, Eagle County Airport (EGE) gets you directly to the heart of the Colorado Rockies, year round. Trade the long drives, snowy passes and airport delays, for friendly, world-class service and ASAP access to your favorite outdoor activities. Eagle Airport is just 70 miles from Aspen over roads that do NOT include any high passes. It is an easy 90 minute drive. Rental cars are available at the Eagle Airport, and Colorado Mountain Express provides van service throughout each day. Because of its location, the Eagle Airport experiences far fewer weather delays.
Eagle County Airport has service from 11 cities on five major airlines during the winter months: American, Continental, Delta, United, United Express, and US Airways provide winter non-stop jet service between EGE and thirteen major U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Newark, and Philadelphia.
Denver International Airport (DIA)
In addition to airports in Eagle and Aspen Colorado, visitors can also choose to fly into Denver International Airport (DIA). Located 220 miles from Aspen, this airport offers some of the best airfares in Colorado and daily direct international flights.
Denver International, on 53 square miles, is one of the world’s biggest airports. It is the fourth-busiest American airport and the ninth busiest worldwide. The expansive and beautiful Jeppesen Terminal is the focus of the airport. It is a two-hub airport with United and Frontier both basing their operations there. From Denver, fly to Aspen on either United Express or Frontier Airlines, or take ground transportation to Aspen and enjoy a four hour scenic drive through the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
