Wednesday, January 9, the Aspen Institute will host a fireside chat, "Why Goethe? Why 1949?" that will explore Aspen's "big bang", 1949's Goethe Bicentennial Convocation and Music Festival. The multi-media presentation will discuss the Goethe event and the Aspen Ideal - a nurturing of mind, body and spirit - which arose as a guiding principal for modern Aspen .
